Memories

(Me back in the day...ahh memories)

Here are the directions: 1. As you comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! 2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Baby Luke

My sister had baby #5 while I was home. She has 4 girls and finally had her little boy--baby Luke.

The girls and their new cousin just a couple hours after he was born. They LOVED holding him--seriously, they were fighting over him.
While I was holding Luke, I just kept thinking "next time I see him, he'll probably be walking" sniff, sniff.

I didn't take Tyson to see Luke on the day he was born (with good reason--my boy is a wild child), but I wanted to give him a chance to see his new cousin. The next day I took him to the hospital too and as we were driving there Tyson kept saying "take baby, take baby"(yeah, a little psycho, I know). He absolutely LOVED holding his new cousin.

Family Reunion

While we were in Canada, we had the very first ever family reunion (on my Dad's side). My kids got to meet my aunt and uncles and I got to see cousins I haven't seen in probably 20yrs. It was great fun--hopefully we'll do it all again soon.

Fishing

Most of our time at the reunion was spent by the water--usually fishing. My Uncle Ron took Mike and the girls out for their first taste of fishing!

Tyson wanted to go too, so Dad and I took Ben and Tyson out. They were very excited when we caught a fish (I was too, since I reeled it in).

The kids all loved holding the dead fish--gross. Somehow, Tyson had the best grip (right on the tail), so his rarely slipped away.
After we caugth the fish, Uncle Ron fried them up and let the kids all have a taste. Tyson gobbled down at least one whole fish all by himself.
A Few Other Hightlights (that I have pictures of)...

Jordan and Maddison had fun floating in a boat that was tied to the dock...until someone untied it!! They were floating away and we were all trying to explain to them how to paddle back. Eventually my cousin Shane had to walk out to rescue them! Luckily Kya had got out of the boat before this happened.
Mike, Jason, Kya and Ben went out fishing. It wasn't until nearly an hour later that they realized they didn't have a hook on the end of their rod. That is my highlight of the trip :)
All the kids had a lot of fun just playing in the water. This is Kya paddling on the dock. It was a little scary when Tyson got a hold of the paddle.
The kids also had a good time with all the dogs that were there. This one is named "Cookie".

So I am still in Canada and having a great time. I just have a couple days left and am feeling really torn about going home. Here are my pros and cons (sorry, no pictures--my parents computer is kind of slow).

Top five reasons why I don't want to go home:
1. It is warmer in Canada than California--go figure.
2. I don't want my babies to start school.
3. I am enjoying not worrying about ANYTHING.
4. I am having too much fun with my sisters and Ginny (who is kind of like a sister too).
5. I like not having to cook every meal :) Thanks Mom!

Top five reasons why I want to go home:
1. I miss my our friends (and the kids miss their friends).
2. I have no clue if my hubby is even eating--let alone cleaning.
3. I miss my hubby and the kids miss their Daddy.
4. I have the mail key.
5. I think I've already gained my allotted 5+lbs.

So, we'll see if I make it out of the driveway on Friday morning. But, I have to admit--I'm not sure I will (at least until Saturday...).

Vacation??

Somehow I hurt my finger and now it is VERY sore and swollen; I got stung by a wasp while walking out my parents' front door; and I got about 4 hours sleep last night...does that sound like a vacation to you??

Proud to be a...

...Canadian...I mean American...I mean....Happy 4th of July Everyone!! I love the USA and I love Canada--but today IS the 4th of July, so we celebrate our freedoms and the country that we live in.

Now that we've celebrated the 4th, we are off to Canada!!

Little Swimmers (not the diapers)

Jordan and Kya just finished swimming lessons yesterday. They both did SO well. Jordan can swim all by herself (in the deep end--that seems to be important when she tells people) across the pool! Kya braved the waterslide for the first time! They both moved up a level and did a great job. I am so proud of my little swimmers:) Poor Tyson had to watch from the sidelines--he was NOT impressed.

My Baby Kya is FIVE!!

Today is Kya's 5th birthday--I can't believe it!

Here's a little about 5-year-old Kya:

Favorite Foods--pretzels, macaroni & cheese (Kraft dinner for all you Canadians), and lasagna.

Favorite Things to Do--play with friends, jump on the trampoline, watch tv, play doggy and kitty with Tyson, read books with Mom (Bearenstein Bear books are her favorite lately), SNUGGLE (usually with Daddy), paint, play in the dirt...

Favorite Shows--The Backyardigans, Spongebob, The Berenstein Bears.

Kya really still seems like a baby to me. She is such a sweet little girl. She also cracks us up every day with the silly things that she says and does--she's hilarious. We are so blessed to have Kya in our family. Here's some pics to recap the past 5 years:
