Our Future Doctors

Last week I tought Kya's preschool. After a LONG discussion about Mexico (we are learning about different countries), I asked a few questions.
What language do they speak in Mexico?

Response #1: "China"

Response #2: "California"

Response #3: "Chinese"

I then explained AGAIN that in Mexico they speak Spanish.

How do you say "hello" in Spanish?

Response #1: "China"

Response #2: Kya held her hand up in the sign "I love you"

The kids then RElearned "hola".

My final question: Where do they speak Spanish AGAIN?

Response #1: "China"

I couldn't help but laugh.

I am laughing so hard right now. Was it Adriann saying China? That's what she told me when she got home!

I think it was Adriann who first answered "China". It didn't take long before all the kids joined in.

I have been thinking since I read this! They (the children) are not a lot different than some of the doctors around today (Dr. West for example). You can say one thing to them and the answer you get can be mind boggling, it's as if they did not hear one word that you said! There is hope though--at least the children are only four! love mom

That is hilarious! I've been through similar conversations with Benjamin . . . and with some of the college students I used to teach :)
