So as I am more aware of these issues, I am even more confused when I watch parents and children around me. I see Kindergarteners walking home from school alone, parents leaving their tiny babies with total strangers, young kids roming the neighborhood for hours on end, and others coming to play with my kids whose parents have no clue where they are or who they are with (I made them call home even when they told me it was okay). Just strange. Maybe I am more protective than most, but come on kids need to be taken care of right?! I would never forgive myself if something happened to my child because I was a neglectful parent.
(This is Tyson trying to escape Wendy's--he has NO idea about safety)

I know! It's a scary world out there.
We have a password too!
i have been thinking about doing the password too! but i am glad to hear you are so protective because I am probably over protective. When living in Texas friends would always make comments to me because i was always so paranoid. i am glad to hear that i am not the only crazy and protective mom out there :)
I'm so paranoid about keeping my kids safe--I don't know how I'm going to handle sending them off to school (next week for Ben!). I love the picture of Tyson trying to escape from Wendy's :)
I've had the talk with Bria and Micah...Bria gets it, Micah forgets! I use the "scare tactic" too. It seems to work wonders:)
Now you know why I always took you and your sisters to school and picked you up after school, even though you wanted to walk home sometimes. I didn't think it was safe then, I probably was a bit paranoid, just like you think you are. It pays to be protective in this day and age with all the things you hear on the news, etc!!
MOM--I TOTALLY get it!! I also get why you would get mad at me when I would forget to call when I walked to Rhonda's house! There are SO many things I understand now that I am a Mom! Thanks for being such a great mom :)
oh...the cutting you up in little pieces talk may need to be reserved for Tyson, you will most likely need it though. Keep it in your back pocket. :)
