Wrong Day to go to the Beach
We decided to go to the beach today...
...and this is what it looked like (seriously, this is an actual picture from Manhattan beach TODAY). We had no idea there was a huge volleyball tournament going on. Needless to say, we drove a little further south before finding a beach that actually had parking available.

Holy cow!!! Del Monte beach was crazy packed a couple of weeks ago when my brother was in town and wanted us to take his family to the beach. I'd never seen more than a few people there in the past, but it looked pretty close to this picture. Needless to say, we didn't stay there!
We did the same thing two weekends ago when my sister came to visit. There was a volleyball tournament going on. We actually stayed, but the beach was crazy packed. We were so lucky to have found a parking spot....I still don't know how we did. We didn't get to see the tournament though because it was fenced off and there were grand stands blocking our view in. We didn't want to pay:)
Wow, that's insane. That's how it was in Huntington two weeks ago for that surf tournament. Holy cow!
It's hard to believe so many people can be in one place at a time! We went to White Rock beach on Saturday (not knowing that the sea festival was going on) and we thought it was really busy, but it looked empty compared to your picture--L.A. is just such a big city compared to anywhere here!
My goodness, where did all those people come from!! I don't think any of our beaches could ever be that crowded...not enough people in this neck of the woods I guess.
