The Countdown Is On

I have watched so many of my friends and family turn 50 over the past few years...and it has made me think (probably too much) about what I want to do for my 50th birthday.  It feels significant, daunting, and overall a huge drag.  I don't want to get old!  I feel a bit "mid-life crisissy" over here!

SOOO....I decided that for the last year of my 40's I am going to live a little, try some things I've never done, and take a few chances I've been avoiding.  I've made a list...basically one thing a month to try that's new.  I haven't completely locked the list in because I'm opening to adding or changing things up, but here we go!

My birthday was a Sunday this year...I slept in, skipped church and relaxed:)

I got my annual mani/pedi a couple days early
(Jordan and Summer came with me this year)

We went to flower world and got a new rose bush ("Falling in Love")

And I got my Black Forest Cake and Chinese food for dinner

The day after my birthday I checked off my first "new" thing off my list...
I got my very first FACIAL!!  It was amazing:)

Wish me luck with the rest of my list...I'll keep you posted😊

Sprinkles of Spring

It seems like every spring is filled with little sprinkles of joy and happiness.

Here's a few of this spring's sweet sprinkles:

Roozengaarde Tulip Festival
(solo trip this year)

Birthday Dinner with Ginny
(I met her in Mt.Vernon right after the tulips which is why I am wearing the same shirt haha)

Lots of Sunday nature walks
(we've had a lot of great weather)

Bike rides with Mike

Lilacs
(always a highlight, and this year their were sooo many)

Mother's Day

Into the Woods
(with Laina and Eric)

Two trips to Canada
(one solo, one with the fam)

Backyard campfires
(and hot tubs--the perfect time of year for it)

So many little sprinkles to be thankful for each year:)
