There's no question I liked this book--heck, I read it in a week and then NEEDED the second book imediately. Of course, like anything else, there were good and bad. Here are a few of my thoughts:
-Edward must be SO HOT. I can't imagine them EVER doing him justice in the movie. I don't think there was a guy created HOT enough for the picture I have painted in my mind of Edward Cullen (except Mike of course).
-I thought the "love story" was a bit cheesy. Bella wanted to give up her entire life (friends, family, hobbies etc.) to be with Edward. I just think it was a bit much--I guess I am NOT reallly a hopeless romantic.
-The whole idea of vampires was very interesting to me. I loved learning all the information about vampires. Mike and I argue about what a "real" vampire is--he really just makes fun of me for reading books about vampires.
Okay, just a few thoughts...now back to reading...

Have you seen pictures of the guy they cast as Edward? Not even cute, let alone the hotness that should be Edward. There is a facebook group devoted to getting this french actor cast as Edward and he was super good looking. He would have been great.
I know, it's Cedric from Harry Potter right? I was disappointed with the entire cast, except Bella.
yeah but i'm still going! and yeah jake would just roll his eyes everytime i was daydreaming about edward and bella, or reading the books, i started to really get into the whole vampire thing and that was just something for him to latch on and make total fun of me for!
I agree about the inability they will have making anyone look as "inhumanly beautiful" as Stephenie Meyers describes. Good luck, though.
I am a little dissapointed that you thought the romance was cheesy!
Wouldn't you have given up EVERYTHING if need be to be with Mike?
I totally bought in to it. I felt I could really relate with my history with Scott. Technically, I gave up "eternity" to be with him, of course it worked out better than that, but I was prepared for it. I KNEW I couldn't live with out him.
