The Best Day of the Year

I must admit, Christmas Eve is by far my favorite day of the year. Now, we've made it even better by adding a new family tradition...ice skating:
Ready to go...

Kya was terrified, but she ended up being the bravest one. She was the only one who actually wanted to skate by herself. We thought Tyson would just love ice skating (he has roller blades on constantly), but he was quite scared of the slippery ice!

Here's our scared little JoJo...we wouldn't expect anything else:)We had a good time...and actualy got to break out the hats and mittens on Christmas Eve!!

What a great idea for a Christmas Eve tradition!

I'm glad that you got to wear your hats and gloves for a little while! You could come up here and have to wear them all the time. Do you remember when your Dad took you skating on the frozen water in the swimming pool! I'll have to find the pictures and send them to you so your children can see where you skated.

Mom--I was telling them about it yesterday. Don't we have a home movie of that?! I was telling them that you and Dad made me wear a helmet and I hated it (we saw a couple kids wearing helmets too).

It is so funny how many gifts are IDENTICAL to stuff we had either this year or for birthdays in the last year. Abby got the scooter, we have the walkie-talkies, and the fishing game....I think some fish still survive.....somewhere. I am glad you had fun...my girls totally want to go skating but it hasn't happened yet, not like home where every empty lot was a rink all winter :( I don't miss the -40 though.
