What's your motivation?

Okay, so I have to admit, I have fallen off the bandwagon the past few weeks. My gym membership expired at the end of August and I haven't renued it yet. I have just been eating whatever the heck I want. And I am starting to feel a little disgusting. Today is the day I get it together--I swear. I feel SO motivated. I guess I just needed to feel disgusting for a while...

Just Curious

I was ridiculed for not bathing my kids enough (you know who you are--I know you were totally kidding), so I was wondering...how often do you bath your kids? Honestly.

a) every day, no matter what

b) whenever they get dirty

c) whenever I have time (or get around to it)

d) a couple times a week

e) I'm supposed to bath my kids??

I can't keep up with how often my kids get dirty...I am NOT willing to bath them 3 times a day and with Tyson that is really what I should be doing. No one better make fun of him at church for still having the tattoo on his cheek from Friday, right?!

I love my Canadian Family (too!)

I have just been searching through pictures because I have two empty frames. I should never do this because I get all sentimental and weepy. So anyways, it really made me miss Canada and all my family up there (that means you too Gin). I just wanted to say I love you guys and I miss you all SO MUCH (sniff, sniff).

Oh Mister Sun

Well the sun is gone. I knew it was too good to be true. We had an absolutely beautiful sunny weekend and today while I was at playgroup, it felt like winter (well, Monterey winter). We did enjoy the beach while the sun was here. I managed to bring my camera on ONE of our beach adventures. We went to see the sea lions in Monterey and then let the kids play in the sand for a while. It was 5pm and warm and sunny--VERY unusual for these parts. We even got to see dolphins jumping (Jordan's favorite animal) which was very exciting!!

Kissy Kissy Kissy

I went to pick Kya up from Kindergarten a week or so ago and her teacher said "we had to talk to Kya today about not kissing." I immediately talked to Kya about only kissing people in our family. I didn't think much of it until a few days later. I was curious if Kya maybe had a crush on one of the boys in her class, so I asked:

Mom: "Kya who did you kiss at school?"

Kya: "Franky"

Mom: "Did you kiss him on the cheek or ...?"

Kya: "No, I kissed him on the butt!"

Mom: "What???!!!"

Oh my gosh, I couldn't stop laughing. I felt partially responsable because at night time occasionally we would think about all the different kisses we could do (eskimo, butterfly etc.) and sometimes I would jokingly say "buttkiss." I had no idea Kya would try it at school:)

Today after school while she and a few friends were playing, Jordan came up and told me "Kya kissed Calvin." I hope this doesn't mean she is boy crazy already...some might say her Mom was boy crazy at that age...

by the way, that is NOT Kya's real hair

The New Emontster

So we finally gave in and got the kids a kitten. Isn't she SO cute?! Once we picked out the girl, there was no question what the girls would name her....Miley!

Tyson's new expressions "take her" and "squish him."

Proof

We went to Capitola beach for Labor Day yesterday. I forgot to bring my camera, so here is "proof" that we actually went.

We have sand in our car, sand in our bathtub, and of course sand in our shoes. Here is Tyson's shoe and yes, that is sand in our trunk too.

Our beach bag is still packed! This is the best beach bag ever. I can fit the kids' 3 towels, our big beach blanket, all our sand toys, our snacks, sunscreen, water bottles...and it's still not even hard to carry. This bag is my life saver when I end up carrying Tyson because the sand is "too hot."

And of course, I got a sunburn (this is my shoulder by the way). I made the mistake of trying to get rid of my "farmer" tan. Ouch!
