I didn't ask for THIS

Now that I am in my thirties (ugh), I am starting to understand the idea of wishing I looked like I did five years ago or ten years ago. Well, yesterday I woke up with a ZIT!!! That is NOT what I meant. Who gets zits in their thirties?! I never did have many zits as a teenager, but boy did this bring me back to those highschool days. Although I would love to shed a few pounds and wrinkles, I am glad I am not back in highschool anymore:) These days are MUCH better.

I didn't realize

My internet has been shutting off for no aparent reason today and yesterday. I can't believe how helpless I felt without it. Today I came home from the gym more tired than ever and I just wanted to veg in front of the computer...no internet. Ahhh, it drove me crazy. And then when the internet was finally working I found myself racing to send emails and check blogs. My kids had just come home from school and I told them all they had to stay busy because I had VERY IMPORTANT things to do. I think I might just be an internet junky! Any of you there with me?? I bet you are :)

Kya's "Bookmark"

When Kya was 1 month old, her pediatritian told me her birthmark (Kya has always called it her "bookmark") would grow with her until she was about two years old and then would gradually disappear. As I watched that birthmark grow, I never thought it would go away. Now you can barely see it. Nobody even notices it anymore. Here is a before and after shot:

Silly Girls

This is what happens when you let your 5 year old watch Hannah Montana:
Lyrics
I love my outfit
I love my outfit
She loves her outfit
She loves her outfit
I am a genius
I am a genius
I love my outfit!

I don't know where my 7 year old got this one:

Words
And slide and slide
And do the butterfly
And dip and dip
And shake my little hips
I want you and you to cheer with me too!

Miley

I thought I would give a little update on Miley. We are completely in love with this kitten. She is so crazy, wild and playful. She loves to snuggle and purrs SO loud. She is the perfect addition to our family. We love her!

She loves playing inside Mike's ankle brace. We were laughing so hard watching her wiggle in and out of this thing.

Jordan and Miley Miley loves to sleep in the laundry basket--the DIRTY laundry!
Here's Miley with her favorite toy. It is actually one of the girls' stuffed animals. It quacks when she plays TOO ruff with it:)Kya is still a little scared of Miley's claws. She loves Miley, but will run away crying if she starts chasing her.
Miley stuck in the ankle brace again.Venturing outside.
Tyson with his new best friend. Miley really has kept him company now that his sisters are in school all day. He is constantly carrying her around and chasing her.

Miley is SO playful, but it's hard to capture on film. This is her attacking one of her mice.

Babysitting 101

I think all Mom's have funny stories about what they find when they get home from a night out. The funniest stories are the ones when we leave our kids with the best babysitter of all--their DAD. Let me just say, my husband is a wonderful husband and father. He always lets me go out with my friends or to the gym and NEVER complains about staying home with the kids. He is also amazing with the kids. He makes up fun games, tickles, and wrestles until the kids practically pee their pants from laughing so hard. So after saying all these wonderfull things about my hubby, I have to say that sometimes he does things a little different than me. I sometimes joke that if he was a hired babysitter, I would never have him back. I never have to worry about the kids being happy, safe, and in bed when I get home...it's just the other stuff that sometimes makes me laugh.

Last night I went out with some friends to volunteer at a women's shelter (which is a story in itself). This is what I came home to:

More than half of dinner was left on the counter (babysitting 101--if you eat dinner, put the remainder of the meal in the FRIDGE!!!).

I went upstairs to check on the kids and Tyson wasn't in his bed. I yelled down to Mike "Where's Tyson?", his reply "I don't know" (babysitting 101--know where the kids are at all times).

Eventually I found Tyson sleeping on the top bunk with Jordan--anyone guess why??? Before I left, I stripped Tyson's bed to wash the sheets and hadn't put new sheets on yet. Yah, so Mike put Tyson to bed on his mattress which was covered with a plastic protector--I'd go find another bed to sleep on too!! (babysitting 101--never put a kid to bed on a plastic sheet).
I later noticed that the girls were sleeping on their bare pillows with no cases on them. (Common Sense 101--if a pillow is missing a case, put one on; if a mattress is missing a sheet, put one on...)

Anyways, my kids were sleeping and everyone was safe. That's all that really matters :) I love you hubby!

Intermittent Exotropia

Some of you already know that Tyson has been having some eye issues lately. A few weeks ago we noticed him blinking A LOT everytime he watched TV. We just saw an Ophthalmologist (my new favorite word) today and here's the verdict: Intermittent Exotropia. His eyes alone work perfectly, but when they work together, one sometimes will wander. For now, we just wait and see if it gets better (2/3 of all cases, kids just grow out of it). If it gets worse, then we may patch it for a couple hours a day or he may need glasses for a few hours a day. Hopefully it won't get that far, but if those treatments don't help he may have to get surgery. The Ophthalmologist (couldn't resist using that word again) will check on him again in 4 months...

See, NOT ALL Mormons are Republicans

I had to steal this off my friend's blog. Don't laugh if you see me wearing it :0)
